Reaching Our Advanced and Resourceful Leaners
-Our mission is to identify students who are academically advances and provide them with a rigorous curriculum and challenging learning experiences to meet their intellectual needs.
-ROAR will be taught daily by a certified gifted and talented teacher using an enriched and accelerated integrated thematic curriculum with an emphasis on math and science.
-Content will be presented with a greater depth and complexity, requiring higher-level thinking and application.
-Enrichment and exploratory activities will be provided such as field studies, guest speakers, cultural arts events, interest centers, projects, simulations, prototyping, and masker spaces.
-Students will be assessed in a variety of ways to include portfolios, presentations, science fairs, invention fairs, performance tasks, and other innovative projects.
-Eligibility is based on two qualifying scores on ability and achievement tests with the potential of an observational checklist as a third qualifier, if necessary.
-Students will be screened at the beginning of kindergarten, first, and second grade.
